About Us

The Textile Surface Design Guild is comprised of a group of artists working in a variety of surface design techniques, both individually and as a group. We are united in our passion to explore the artistic potential of fibre and textiles. The guild offers the opportunity for members to work at their own pace in an encouraging and supportive environment. The sharing and exploration of techniques and processes is an important part of guild membership.

Our guild meets at the textile studio at Casa, the new arts facility in Lethbridge, Alberta. This studio offers a safe, up-to-date work area.  Programs are offered twice monthly and occasional workshops with well-known textile artists. Come explore techniques including dyeing, fabric painting, silkscreen, batik, stamping, stenciling, felting, collage, embellishment, and painting and dyeing other surfaces including paper, glass and wood.

Members are encouraged to bring current projects, finished and in process, to each meeting and program to share with the group. Whether it is a completed piece or in the progress of discovery, we would love to see it!

New members are always welcome. Previous experience is not required to join the guild.
